USA: Star Snacks to invest $18 million in a new facility
Star Snack, a US-based manufacturer and distributor of branded nuts, trail mixes & fried fruit, has announced plans to invest over $18 million to build a new facility in Macon-Bibb County, Georgia.
The 200,000-sq-ft peanut roasting and packaging plant will reportedly generate 115 new jobs in sourcing, roasting, and distributing peanuts for private label customers including national and regional drug store chains, brand name retailers, supermarkets, and discount food retailers.
"We are excited about establishing our new processing facility in Bibb County," said Mendel Brachfeld, managing partner of Star Snacks. "One of the big attractions was the Macon-Bibb County Industrial Authority team’s capabilities and eagerness to make things happen. In addition we feel very confident in the local workforce to be able to support our company".
