Japan: Morinaga unveils jelly with sauce in a twin cup
Dairy food and beverage maker Morinaga Milk Industry has introduced a new jelly product called Shinkankaku Kakimaze Jelly (New Texture Jelly to Mix) under the Morinaga brand.
What makes this new product unique is that the jelly and sauce “to be mixed” are presented in a separate compartment. A “bigger cup” contains soda flavoured jelly and a “smaller” one contains sauce. It is claimed that consumers can enjoy “changes” in colour, flavour and texture when mixed together as it turns the jelly to have a melon flavour from soda, and from blue colour into green flavour, according to press release. This “twin cup” is also said to offer convenience as it is easy to mix with the jelly and also easy to throw away.
The 110g jelly will hit the shelves from 20th June with a RRP of ¥120 ($1.09)
