USA: Perfetti Van Melle to bring Airheads sweets to the frozen aisle

Confectionery manufacturer Perfetti Van Melle is to launch a range of ice cream and frozen desserts inspired by the flavour of its Airheads sweets.

The company has partnered with Koldwave Foods, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Spring Creek Holdings, to launch its new range. Available in eight flavours – blue raspberry, cherry, watermelon, orange, green apple, pink lemonade, grape and strawberry – Airheads ice cream is said to feature ribbons of Airheads taffy which create “an innovative, never-before-seen combination”.

"Airheads is a candy brand with a recognizable flavor profile that is translatable to the ice cream category," said Jerry Isaacson, CEO of Spring Creek Holdings.

DitZ ice cream mini bites, sundae cups, ice cream sandwiches, and ice cream squeeze-up tubes will also join the new Airheads ice cream in the frozen aisle.
