USA: Palermo Villa to acquire Connie’s Naturals
Pizza manufacturer Palermo Villa has acquired Connie’s Naturals, a US frozen pizza company, according to an article in Food Business News. The agreement does not include the Connie’s chain restaurants which is located throughout the state of Illinois.
As a result of the acquisition, Connie’s frozen pizza will become part of the Palermo portfolio of brands such as Palermos’s Pizza, P’mos, Screamin’ Sicilian and Unban Pie Pizza Co, which also produces premium private label frozen pizza for the retail and club industries.
"This acquisition helps solidify Palermo’s position as one of the nation’s largest pizza companies," said Giacomo Fallucca, president and CEO of Palermo Villa, commenting on the acquisition.
Palermo Villa and Connie’s frozen pizza companies are family-owned companies, established in the early 1960s by the fathers of the current owners.
"We’re confident that Palermo’s will continue to make Connie’s frozen pizza with the quality and passion that my family has for decades", added Marc Stolfe, president of Connie’s Naturals.
Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
