USA: Origami Owl purchases Willa beauty brand
Jewellery company Origami Owl has decided to expand into the beauty sector by purchasing New York, US beauty firm Willagirl for an undisclosed amount, according to an article in Cosmetics Business.
Willagirl focuses on non-harmful and natural skincare and beauty products, including cleansers, exfoliators, moisturisers, facial oils and suncare products, as well as face and eye cosmetics, that are claimed to be free from parabens and phthalates. The company was started a mother and daughter collaboration, and post acquisition will continue to be run by the duo with the help of Annette McEvoy as CEO.
Commenting on the deal, Ms McEvoy said: "All of us at willa are thrilled to be joining the Origami Owl Family of Brands. We have complementary visions and goals. This partnership will enable willa to reach a larger social selling audience and share willa’s inherent goodness with even more people".
