USA: New Age Beverages acquires Coco-Libre

New Age Beverages, a Colorado-based company manufacturing functional drinks under brands including Aspen Pure, Marley and Bucha, has announced the acquisition of Maverick Brands and its flagship coconut water beverages line Coco-Libre.

Promoted as "organic coconut water with a purpose", Coco-Libre is available in plain and pineapple-flavoured varieties. The lineup also includes protein drinks and sparkling coconut water beverages.

New Age Beverages said that the acquisition filled an important gap to complete its functional beverages portfolio and "provide[d] an excellent organic coconut water source for some of the Company's planned new products".

Commenting on the deal, Maverick Brands CEO Candace Crawford, commented, "This evolution provides Coco-Libre® with the necessary resources to fund and scale the next phase of growth. We couldn't be more excited for Coco-Libre® to join the New Age Beverages family.
