USA: Mondelez International to unveil Oreo Red Velvet
Leading bakery and snacks producer Mondelez International is to roll out a Red Velvet version of its Oreo sandwich cookie as a limited edition for Valentine’s Day.
Featuring a bright red colour and a cream cheese flavour filling, the cookie will reproduce the colour and the flavour of the fashionable red Velvet cake, according to reports.
“The brand decided on Red Velvet Oreo as its latest flavor as part of its ongoing mission to put its own twist on popular flavors”, a Mondelez representative told ABC News. “This time around, Oreo saw how much consumers love all things red velvet, so it decided to combine the perfect mix of the chocolate Oreo cookie taste fans love with a cream cheese-flavored creme for those red velvet fanatics”.
The new cookie will be released in the US from 2nd February and will be available across the country for a limited period.
