USA: Kashi acquires Pure Organic

Kashi, the health foods manufacturer that is part of the Kellogg group, is to acquire start up firm Pure Organic, a manufacturer of bars and other organic snack reports, according to a report in Just Food.

Pure Organic produces a range of snack bars including Fruit & Nut Bars, Ancient Grains Bars, Fruit Sandwiches and Fruit & Veggie Strips. Founded in 2006, the company has as its mission to  "make clean, nutritionally balanced, delicious food for all ages".

Commenting on the move in a video statement, Pure Organic founder & CMO Veronica Bosgraaf said: "Since I started Pure, it has been a daily goal of mine to bring more nutritious, organic food to more people. Kashi has the resources, the knowledge, the better distribution to allow us to do just that - to create more organic nutritious food, to get it to more people and to improve more lives. And that's what it's always been about".
