USA: J&J Snack Foods adds Corazonas Heartbar to brand portfolio

US-based food and beverage manufacturer J&J Snack Foods has acquired Corazonas Heartbar Oatmeal Squares, a brand of heart healthy bars featuring plant sterols, from Heart Brand Foods.

J&J Snack Foods Corp senior VP Gerard Law said: "Corazonas HEARTBAR will expand our assortment of niche products and is well positioned to follow the snacking trends that consumers have shown great interest in. It complements our portfolio very well, while also growing our current customer base".

Meanwhile a statement made available on the Corazonas Heartbar website reads: "We're Back! We have decided to add Corazonas HEARTBAR to J&J Snack Food Portfolio to ensure the same great bar you know, love and depend on continues to be available!".

The financial terms of the agreement have not been disclosed.
