USA: J&J Snack Foods buys Hill & Valley Premium Bakery

US snack producer J&J Snack Foods has announced that it is to acquire Hill & Valley Premium Bakery, a cakes and biscuits manufacturer based in Rock Island, IL. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Founded in 1987 and with sales of over $45 million annually, Hill & Valley Premium Bakery is a manufacturer of pre-baked cakes, cookies, pies, muffins and other desserts, specialising in no sugar and no added sugar products. It supplies in-store bakeries and also sustains private labeling partnerships with retailers across the USA.

Commenting on the deal, J&J Snack Foods senior vice president Jerry Law said: "We are excited to add Hill & Valley to our team. This acquisition rounds out our in-store bakery offerings by expanding our capabilities and customer base, and provides us a newly constructed facility that has ample capacity for growth and a nimble production process".
