USA: Inter Parfums posts strong Q2 results

Inter Parfums has announced its results for the second quarter ended June 30th, reporting that net sales of ongoing brands increased by 22.1% to $118 million from $97 million while net income increased to $6 million from $4 million in 2013.

Cosmetics Business reports that Europe-based operations generated ongoing brand sales of of $95 million, an increase of 31.2% on last year’s $72 million in the same period. Of this, $4 million in incremental sales can be attributed to the debut of the Karl Lagerfeld fragrance duo for the quarter.

Jean Madar, Chairman and CEO of Inter Parfums attributed the growth to “new product launches as well as the continuing success of several established scents”, such as Montblanc's Emblem and Legend fragrances. Montblanc brand sales were up 88% in the quarter.
