USA: Highlander Partners announces acquisition of Hillside Candy

Investment firm Highlander Partners has announced the acquisition of sugar confectionery firm Hillside Candy for an undisclosed amount.

Hillside manufactures and markets organic, sugar-free confectionery products under the GoOrganic, GoLightly, Pick Your Color and Hillside Sweets brands. The product line predominantly consists of hard sweets but also includes fruit chews under the GoOrganic name. Products are sold direct and through distributors to grocery and pharmacy chains, mass merchandisers, club stores, gourmet retailers, gift companies and other channels domestically and internationally.

Commenting on the deal, Hillside president Ted Cohen said: "I am excited to partner with the Highlander team to continue the growth of the Hillside business.
