USA: Flavors Holdings Inc. acquires Merisant

Flavors Holdings Inc. (Flavors) has announced the acquisition of Merisant Company, a manufacturer and marketer of tabletop sweeteners. Flavors is a holding company that is an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of MacAndrews & Forbes Holdings Inc. and the parent entity of Mafco Worldwide Corporation, a manufacturer of licorice extract and related derivatives.

Merisant is one of the world's leading manufacturers of tabletop sweeteners which markets its sweeteners under its flagship all-natural sweetener brands Equal, Canderel and Pure Via, along with several other brands in more than 90 countries.
