USA: Diet Coke enters frozen beverage market
The Coca-Cola Company has announced that it is due to launch a new low calorie frozen carbonated drink, the first frozen product ever offered under the Diet Coke brand.
Following the announcement that Coca Cola is to be released in a capsule format, the company has now revealed that the Diet Coke lineup is to be expanded in the USA with the launch of the frozen beverage brand Diet Coke Frost. Featuring natural cherry flavouring, the drink is said to have only 30 calories and 12 grams of carbohydrates. Diet Coke Frost has been available in partnership with 7-Eleven since February, and as the weather starts to warm up, the product will be distributed across the country by the end of May.
“Customers turn to 7-Eleven for our iconic Slurpee beverages, which is how America can first experience Diet Coke Frost,” said Nancy Smith, 7-Eleven’s Senior Vice President of Fresh Foods and Proprietary Beverages.
Meanwhile Stuart Kronauge, General Manager, Sparkling Beverages, Coca-Cola America, commented: “Diet Coke Frost is a great-tasting, refreshing uplift for any time of day. Providing fans with yet another way to enjoy their favorite beverage demonstrates why Diet Coke continues to be the No. 2 beverage in the U.S."
