USA: Danone to move headquarters

France-based dairy and drinks multinational Danone has announced that will move the location of its headquarters in North America from Greenburgh, NY to White Plains in the same county.

Dessislava Miteva, chief people officer and vice-president of human resources for Danone North America said the relocation was about creating "as much open space as possible to maintain the sense of community we currently have, to encourage informal and ad-hoc communication, and to ensure as much freedom and autonomy as possible in an energetic and existing workplace".

The new headquarters, three miles away from the current site, will see the building 109,000 square feet of office space as well as a 12,000 sq ft food laboratory . It will initially have 400 full-time employees. with 150 more expected to join over the next five years, once the new headquarters is completed.
