UK: The Protein Works to launch protein-enhanced popcorn

Described as the world’s first high protein popcorn, Naked Protein Popcorn is due to be launched by sports nutrition company The Protein Works.

Promoted as the “the ultimate high specification protein snack”, it is described as being made with premium grade whey protein isolate, organic popcorn, organic coconut oil and stevia extract and contains 21.9g of protein per 100g of product.

"We've had a great first year, but we feel the best is yet to come”, commented Nick Smith, co-founder of The Protein Works. “We have a pipeline of totally unique products and are joining forces with experts outside the sector to combine expertise in what will be some pretty exciting collaborations, so watch this space!"

The high-protein snack can be purchased for £3.99 ($6.40) for a 100g tub and is available in two varieties: Sweet & Salty and Marbled Chocolate.
