UK: PG Tips expands into fruit and herbal teas
Unilever is set to launch new ranges of fruit and green tea under the PG Tips brand.
The PG Tips brand is to see the launch of a new range of herbal and fruit teas in an attempt to tap into a growing market. Available from January, the new range will include green teas including Vibrant Mandarin & Orange and Jasmine, and herbal teas such as Redbush & Vanilla. The launch will be supported by a £5m marketing campaign.
PG Tips will continue to use the ‘pyramid bags’ technology associated with the brand and will have an accessible RRP and decorative packaging to attract new consumers, the company said.
“Our PG tips range will tap into the trend for Fruit & Herbal and Green tea, offering consumers a fresh, flavoursome taste from each of the largest flavour segments”, Kate Mitchell, Brand Manager for PG Tips. “By launching a new range into our portfolio we’re aiming to attract new consumers to the category and drive incremental sales within both sectors.”
The Green Tea range will retail at an RRP of £1.29 and the Fruit and Herbal range at an RRP of £1.19.
