UK: Monin launches popcorn-flavoured syrup

Monin, the French based producer of liqueurs and syrups, has released what is promoted as the first popcorn-flavoured syrup to add “a roasted popcorn flavour with a hint of nuttiness” to cocktails, smoothies, coffee and desserts.

"Popcorn’s popularity as a snack has exploded in recent years, with several new brands and varieties launching into the marketplace", Lee Hyde, Monin’s beverage innovation manager commented. "We want to capitalise on this trend by bringing that much-loved, nostalgic flavour into the bar and coffee shop sectors".

The new entry is also said be the flagship product for the Monin Winter 2016 beverage programme, which will support its use for the creation of seasonal drinks with dedicated campaigns designed for bar owners.

For the retail market, Monin popcorn-flavoured syrup will be available in 70cl glass bottle with an RRP of £6.99 ($9.32).
