UK: Metcalfe's adds White Cheese flavour to popcorn range

Metcalfe's Food Company has expanded its Topcorn Skinny Popcorn range in the UK with the launch of a new flavour variant – White Cheese.

Described as as "freshly popped butterfly popcorn with a delicious cheese flavour", the new product is said to have been inspired by a similar flavour that is popular in the USA. Real cheddar cheese and buttermilk are combined to create the blend, which is said to have a creamy texture and only 114 calories per serving.

Metcalfe's Creative Director Julian Metcalfe commented: "We’ve been looking into adding a cheese flavour to the range for months and months. We weren’t content with creating yet another cheese, cheese and onion or sour cream flavour which are so prevalent in the UK market. We strive to be different and unique".

“We’ve explored so many different cheese flavour profiles and this was by far the winning choice. We are confident White Cheese will be a huge success”.

The product comes in 75g "sharing" bags and joins the existing flavours Sargent Salt, Sweet ‘n Salt, Sweet Cinnamon Spice, Wasabi Glaze, Heat ‘n Sweet and Chocolate Crackle.
