UK: Mars adds Snickers & Skittles shakes to its range

Mars has announced it has added two new products to its Mars drinks range – Skittles and Snickers milkshakes.

The milk drink range, which comes in a 350ml bottle, now encompasses a wide range of shakes, such as Bounty, Galaxy, Mars, Mars Caramel, Milky Way and Starburst, as well as the new Skittles and Snickers varieties.

FoodBev reports that flavoured milk drinks in the UK of this kind are seeing growth 19% with chocolate the most popular, representing 34% share of value sales.

Meanwhile flavours outside of the core varieties chocolate, banana and strawberry have seen 40% growth, accounting for 23% of total value sales.

Michelle Frost, general manager for Mars Chocolate Drinks & Treats said: “These new flavours offer the category something fresh and exciting. We believe that these innovative and fun flavours will entice new consumers into the category.”
