UK: Coty to close Seaton Delaval site
US-based multinational beauty products manufacturer Coty has announced its intention to shut down its facility in Seaton Delaval, Northumberland, United Kingdom by the end of next year.
According to sources, the cosmetics and perfumes maker wants to consolidate its fragrances operations into "fewer core centres".
"These proposals are the result of a detailed study of our expanded global manufacturing capacities and capabilities for each of our divisions following the merger with P&G Specialty Beauty brands and with the objective to enable our future growth", Coty said in a statement.
The move follows recent news regarding the potential closure of another major Coty facility in Hunfeld, Germany.
