UK: Colian acquires Elizabeth Shaw

Poland-based confectionery firm Colian has acquired British chocolatier Elizabeth Shaw in a deal worth £2.3 million ($3.4 million), according to a report in Reuters.

Elizabeth Shaw produces chocolate-based confectionery, including Famous Names chocolate liqueurs and Elizabeth Shaw after dinner mints.

Commenting on the acquisition, Elizabeth Shaw managing director Karen Crawford  said: "Colian has a wealth of experience in the confectionery market and ambitious growth plans. The acquisition of Elizabeth Shaw brings a well-respected quality Brand with English heritage into the Colian portfolio. I am delighted and excited to be working with them on the next phase of Elizabeth Shaw’s expansion".

Colian is principally engaged in the production and wholesale of sweets, as well as rendering food production services. The company's product range comprises approximately 250 products, including nuts, wafers and bars, biscuits, jelly products, plums in chocolate, candies, spices, nuts, raisins, almonds, delicacies and tea.
