UK: CocoPro launches high protein coconut water

Coco Pro has launched what it claims to be the world’s first high protein coconut water, containing 20 grams of whey protein isolate per 330ml serving.

Designed as a post-workout drink to deliver muscle recovery and hydration, CocoPro is said to be made with 100% natural ingredients and no added sugar. It is also described as fat and cholesterol free, low in carbohydrates, and contains 135.3 calories per serving.

CocoPro operations director Rory Lawson commented: “We’re delighted that CocoPro is available on retail shelves for the first time. It is the result of more than 14 months of research and product development”. He added:“On-the-go sports nutrition is a large market and increasingly, consumers are demanding natural high protein products that do not compromise on taste or quality”.

The new drink, which is available in coconut and coconut with pineapple versions,  is now available for online purchase and is set to be launched in Holland and Barrett stores across the UK in mid-November priced at £2.75 (4.40) for a 330ml serving.
