Tradeshow Insight: Food & Drink 2016
April 2016 saw thousands of FMCG professionals once again set their sights on the UK’s second city, as Food & Drink – a leading UK show for the food and drinks industry, spanning the grocery, wholesale, speciality retail, manufacturing and foodservice sectors – returned to the NEC in Birmingham for the latest of its two-yearly editions.
Food & Drink Expo ran alongside three co-located events – Foodex, the Farm Shop & Deli Show and the National Convenience Show – and welcomed more than 1,200 exhibitors to the NEC’s extensive showgrounds for three days that showcased the latest in UK product innovation, alongside cookery demonstrations, presentations and seminars.
Meanwhile, the show floor itself offered up its usual diverse array of innovations and new product ideas, but it was the trend for protein enhancement – especially in snack formats – that was most to the fore across the exhibition hall.
