Thailand: CP Group to partner with Thomas Foods on new Australia plant
An announcement has been made that Thailand-based food giant CP Group and Australian meat company Thomas Foods have signed a memorandum of understanding to being the planning of an "advanced food processing centre" to produce ready-made meals for export.
The agreement between them will reportedly lead to the planning of a new large-scale advanced food processing centre in Australia, linking to one of the biggest food distribution networks in the world.
In a statement, CP Group said: “The two organizations are exploring a number of opportunities to collaborate together across their respective markets, particularly in value-added meat processing and food business on the back of state-of-the-art technology and know-how from CP as well as the best quality raw materials from TFI and other sources in Australia”.
Darren Thomas of Thomas Foods added: “Through this new facility, South Australian food would be valued-added locally in many different formats such as further processed, cooked or meal ready solutions - then exported to Asia and other countries around the world”.
