Thailand: Ajinomoto invests $23 million to increase production capacity

International seasonings and food manufacturer Ajinomoto has announced that its subsidiary Ajinomoto Thailand is to invest 800 million THB ($23.1 million) to “meet growing demand for flavor seasonings in Thailand”.

According to Ajinomoto, the expansion is expected to increase the production capacity of Ros Dee, a flavour seasoning, by approximately 40%, by automating the packaging process at its Nong Khae Factory in Saraburi Province. It is also said that the investment will ensure that products will be “safe and trustworthy by upgrading its equipment to prevent contamination and enhancing traceability for more thoroughgoing quality control”.

In relation to the announcement, Ajinomoto added that it was “working to further expand its flavor seasonings business to accelerate business expansion in Thailand, the largest base of the Ajinomoto Group’s overseas consumer foods business” as the size of target market in Thailand has doubled in the past five years.
