South Korea: Lotte launches chocolate-based food supplement

Lotte Confectionery Co Ltd has launched a new chocolate-based dietary supplement in South Korea.

Named Dream Cacao Flavanol and sold under the brand name Lotte Health One, the product reportedly targets middle-aged  and senior consumers.

A reinvention of the company’s well known Lotte Dream Cacao product in the form of a dietary supplement, Lotte Health One Dream Cacao Flavanol is said to have been approved by the Korean Food and Drug Administration (KFDA) for its health benefits through antioxidant support, improving blood circulation and helping to preventing dementia.

The daily recommended intake is 27g (equal to eight tablets) twice a day, an amount which contains a total of 200.2mg of flavanol.

The product comes in a 108g bottle priced at 15000 KRW (13.66 USD) and will be available in health stores and pharmacies from the middle of February.
