Portugal: Mimosa launches half-yoghurt, half-jelly dessert

Portuguese dairy company Mimosa has released a layered product that is said to be  half jelly and half yoghurt, creating a new category within its range of yoghurt products.

According to a report in Distribuicao Hoje, the new product is described as "double layered non-fat yoghurt and jelly" and aims to constitute "the good part of dieting".

Available in the varieties Raspberry and Passion Fruit, Mimosa Low Fat Yoghurt + Jelly is claimed to contain only 17 calories and no artificial colours, fat or added sugar.

To promote the release, the brand is said to be running a billboard campaign alongside a programme of tasting initiatives.

Mimosa Low Fat Yoghurt + Jelly is now available throughout Portugal in packs of four with a retail price of €1.99 ($2.20).
