Portugal: Lidl launches My Lidl Shop digital game

German retail chain Lidl has introduced My Lidl Shop, a digital game for children that mimics the running of a supermarket, according to an article in HiperSuper.

Debuting in Portugal, the game is described as being part of an international project that aims to connect the digital world with the store experience.

Developed by the German retailer for Digital Learning Day, My Lidl Shop challenges players to grow their store from a local business to a larger supermarket. To achieve that, players have to look for products and read barcodes in physical stores in order to collect digital coins for use in the game. Players win points by ensuring the permanent availability of produce, as well as stock replenishment and store cleaning. Users are also rated by a customer satisfaction index and are faced with "mini-game" challenges that are aimed at replicating typical tasks in the day-to-day running of a supermarket.

The My Lidl Shop app can be downloaded free of charge on iOS and Android devices in Portugal.
