Speaking about the Alentejo region, Marin Dokozic, managing director of Lidl in Portugal, commented: “It is a region of the country that is still developing” and one in which “Lidl’s offering of quality at the best price is well suited and meets consumer needs.”
In the Alentejo, the first Lidl supermarket opened in Sines, 18 years ago. Today, the retailer already has 18 stores in the region.
Dokozic noted that "this year alone," the German group expects to invest a total of around 45 million euros in the Portuguese market.
