Portugal: Auchan launches My Auchan convenience store concept
Retail giant Auchan has launched a new convenience store brand in Lisbon called My Auchan, according to a report in HiperSuper.
The move is the result of a €6 million ($6.4 million) investment, and six of the stores are expected to open by the end of the year,
Among the characteristics of the new "ultra local" stores are a differentiated product range, a focus on convenience and price and digitized services, according to Auchan.
Company executive Rui De Carvalho said: "We wanted to bring a concept to Portugal that already existing in other countries. My Auchan stores will allow us to get even closer to consumers and respond in the best way to their needs and expectations".
The first My Auchan store occupies an area of 430 square metres and has three different product areas: produce, fast food and other consumer goods, with a strong focus on refrigerated, organic and special dietary products.
