New Zealand: Beak NZ launches “healthy” meat line for children

Beak New Zealand has recently announced a range of processed meat products targeted at health-conscious parents. The range includes a tomato sauce flavoured sausage as well as meatballs and burgers and is designed to appeal to both youngsters and their parents.

The products contain herbs, spices and premium beef or chicken and are claimed to be aimed at the growing number of families who are asking for a more natural meat product. According to Beak General Manager Graeme Laurence, only the finest quality chicken is used and the burgers and sausages are created from pure chicken breast and thigh meat. They also described as free from MSG, artificial colours and artificial flavours, as well as low in preservatives.

"Kiwi parents are better informed than ever before and are demanding a better quality product at the checkout and we have a responsibility to ensure that what we produce for our children is as wholesome as possible," Laurence continued.
