Netherlands: Kraft Heinz sells Utrecht facility
Kraft Heinz, the US-based multinational is to sell its drinks, bread toppings and breakfast cereal facility in Utrecht to the investment fund Livia via its portfolio company Coflace Food.
Livia said that the basic agreement would include a co-pack agreement for Coflace Food to manufacture goods for brand lines such as Rosvicee and Karan Cevitam drinks, De Ruijter and Venz chocolate sprinkles, as well as Brinta breakfast cereals on behalf of Kraft Heinz. Livia said it planned to grow the operations by attracting new customers and concluding long-term co-pack agreements based on Livia's network and experience in the food sector.
Commenting on the deal, Livia founder and owner Prof Dr Dr Peter Löw said: "Given the great quality of the products, the brands and the high professionality and skills of the workforce LIVIA decided on taking the opportunity to acquire the Utrecht capabilities of Kraft Heinz. Livia is very much looking forward to take the opportunity to grow the business based on our profound experience in the worldwide food sector and various relevant markets".
