Netherlands: Albert Heijn introduces AH To Go app

Dutch retailer Albert Heijn has recently launched the AH To Go app, which is designed to help consumers to find special offers and discounts and to locate the nearest Albert Heijn store.

According to European Supermarket Magazine, in order to find a deal in the app, the user needs to simply swipe a stack of virtual cards to see which deal is being offered at the time and then it can be used at checkout by scanning the customer card.

The special offers are said to be time-specific, which means that if the app is used in the mid-afternoon, the deals offered will try to meet the typical needs for that time of the day - such as a food deal for a snack or salad.

In order to build loyalty, the retailer’s app also offers the option to save up for free products by collecting loyalty cards.

The app is available for Android and iOS devices.
