Mexico: Arca Continental to Invest Ps.$5,200 million in 2015

Arca Continental, Coca-Cola’s second largest bottler and the largest in Latin America, has announced an investment for 2015 of Ps. $5.200 million ($341 million), mainly to strengthen market and sale operations in Mexico and also to establish new production facilities in South America.

In addition to automating a plant in Mexico, the company plans the construction of new plants for Coca-Cola and Tonicorp in Ecuador and a new bottling plant in Argentina.

Company CEO Manuel L. Barragan Morales said: “Most of the investment will be focused on strengthening our operations, particularly in Mexico, our most important market, and to improve operations at the point of sale, to expand production capacity in South America, to strengthen complementary businesses, and to seek new avenues that add value”.

Arca Continental has recently recorded 15 consecutive quarters of EBITDA growth, Mr Morales added, with revenue in 2014 rising 6.2% to Ps. $13.644 million ($895 million) in 2014.
