Japan: Nisshin Foods Inc. introduces multi-dispensing flour pack
Nisshin Foods Inc., has announced their launch of its long-standing cooking flour in a new 'compact' bottle format, available from February 2015.
Launched to coincide with 60 years of Nisshin flour, the bottle features two dispensing mechanisms – one a shaker and the second a means of measuring a level spoon. According to Nisshin, the new format was designed to address challenges such as accidental spillage, lack of a proper seal, and not being be able to use the full contents of the pack.
Additionally, the flour is claimed to be ‘lighter’ than their original, making it easy to shake and mix with other ingredients.
Unlike Nisshin’s current flour range, which comes in sizes of between 500g and 2kg, the 'compact' bottle is offered in a size of 150g size (and 100g for a refill) and targets occasional flour users . The product retails at an RRP of 220 JPY ($1.86), with the refill pack at 140 JPY ($1.18).
