Japan: Kewpie launches fruit vinegar dressings

Kewpie, the Japanese seasonings firm, is launching a new "green cap" series of salad dressings that are claimed to "maximize the flavour of vegetables".

Made with a blend of fruit vinegar and fruit juice, the new varieties offered, are Lemon Dressing (described as a mix of lemon vinegar, lemon juice and grapefruit juice for a refreshing taste), Tamanegi To Shiro Budo Dressing (Onion and White Grape, described as a mix of grated onion, white grape juice and white grape vinegar, offering a “rich flavour”), and Ninjin To Orange Dressing (Carrot and Orange Dressing, described as a mix of carrot puree, orange juice and lemon vinegar).

The new dressings have reportedly been launched with the aim of increasing the consumption of salad vegetables and to give a new boost to the salad dressings market. Each variety is available in a 150ml glass bottle with an RRP of ¥238 ($2.08).
