India: Dabur opens new facility in Assam

FMCG manufacturer Dabur has announced the inauguration of a new manufacturing facility in Tezpur, Assam.

According to India Retailing, the facility will produce the whole range of Dabur’s products including health supplements, ayurvedic medicines, hair oil, shampoo, toothpaste, skin care and household products.

Dabur chairman Dr Anand C Burman said: "I am extremely proud to announce the commissioning of Dabur’s most-modern factory in Tezpur. This factory will become the largest manufacturing facility for Dabur worldwide and possesses state-of-the-art technology to make world class products. The Tezpur plant reflects our confidence in the continuous growth and expansion of our FMCG business in India and our strong commitment to Assam as a strategic manufacturing hub".

Dabur is said to have invested 250 crore INR ($38 million) in the new plant, which is claimed to be the most modern and environmentally-friendly facility for consumer goods in the country.
