India: Bengal Beverages records growth in 2014

Bengal Beverages, which is a franchised bottling company of Coca Cola based in the Indian state of Bengal, has said that it has seen its turnover increase 20% in 2014.

According to CMD S R Goenka, the company has invested almost Rs 3,000 million ($51 million) in the last five years in order to modernize and increase production. “We have just installed a sparkling beverage line to add capacity. We are not facing any slowdown in cola demand” he said.

Goenka also commented on the  “Parivartan Project”, through which 6,600 retailers have been trained to run outlets more professionally. According to Cocoa Cola university director R C Dutta, the project covers 205,000 small convenience stores across the country.
