Germany: Unilever opens first store dedicated to the Dove brand

FMCG multinational Unliever has opened its first retail outlet dedicated to its leading health & beauty brand Dove, according to a report in the Hamburger Abendblatt

Located inside the German and Swiss headquarters of Unilever at Hafen City in Hamburg, the store will be the first of its kind to be open to the general public. With a surface area of more than 180 square metres, the Dove outlet will offer more than 100 different products with an additional zone for services such as manicure and pedicure. In addition, there is a space for certain customers to display and sell their own products.

Speaking to the Hamburger Abendblatt, Unilever CEO for Germany and Switzerland Ulli Gritzuhn stated that the idea behind the store was to attract more people to the Unilever building, which currently has between 2,500 and 3,000 visitors per day. The main purpose was not to sell Dove products but more to allow customers to experiment the brand, he added.

According to reports, Unilever will decide in two years’ time whether to open further Dove brand stores.
