Germany: Kruger sees annual sales rise 9%

Kruger Group, a manufacturer of branded and private label consumer products including coffee, chocolate and food ingredients, has posted a 9% increase in its annual sales, Lebensmittel Praxis reports.

According to company financials for FY 2013, total sales for the group rose to €1.95 billion ($2.6 billion) and, for the first time in a number of years, the company recorded growth not only in export markets but also domestically. Chocolate and other confectionery were among the categories that contributed to the company’s growth, with Kruger saying that the chocolate brand Schogetten, the fruit confectionery brand Fritt and the nut brand Edle Tropfen had all seen a “meaningful improvement” in their market position.

Meanwhile, coffee capsules were emphasised as an important avenue for growth. The company said it was now supplying Aldi Sud with K-Fee System capsules, while it was also targeting export markets with its own recently launched Espresto brand.
