Karlovarske Mineralni Vody (KMV), the largest producer of mineral and spring water in Central and Eastern Europe, has announced that it has recently finalized the acquisition of Kekkuti Asvanyviz Zrt, a Hungarian bottled water manufacturer owned by Nestle Waters.

Krkkuti Asvanyviz Zrt. is one of the leading manufacturers of bottled water in Hungary, offering traditional Hungarian brands such as Theodora Kekkuti and Theodora Kereki,

Alessandro Pasquale, chief executive of KMV, said: “We have an ambitious development plan for Kékkúti Ásványvíz. We want to approach Hungarian market in the same way as we succeeded in the Czech Republic or Austria. We will transfer our know-how in innovation, quality, experience in a highly competitive environment, customer orientation and product portfolio focusing on the healthy lifestyle of adults and children, to the Hungarian market. At the same time we will support local traditions and products”.

KMV, which operates in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, Poland and Ukraine, started its expansion in 2008 with the acquisition of Waldquelle, now the second largest producer of mineral water in the local market.

The company said it would continue bottling and developing the existing Nestle Waters portfolio, which includes Nestle Aquarel, San Pellegrino, Perrier and Acqua Panna.
