Canada: Prima Chai launches traditionally brewed chai
Prima Chai is taking “the labour intensive process of preparing traditional Indian tea” by launching a ready-to-drink chai tea for consumers in Canada.
According to a press release, the tea was created by Tas Cheema “using a family recipe passed down through generations” after he had identified “the need for an authentic Chai that met the needs of his modern South Asian family”.
Commenting on the launch, Mr Cheema said: “Prema Chai is targeted towards consumers who are interested in serving authentic Chai, but who lack the time or skills to brew their own. While the product will likely develop a loyal base of South Asian consumers, it will also appeal to Caucasian customers interested in exploring new products and flavours”.
Prema Chai Tea is claimed to be free from preservatives, made with USDA certified black tea, 100% Canadian milk, sugar and natural spices, and can be consumed hot or cold.
Presented in 325ml and 946ml plastic bottles, it is available in Original, No Sugar Added, and French Vanilla varieties.
