Brazil: Procter & Gamble invests in innovation centre
US multinational Procter & Gamble has recently announced the investment of R$150 million ($50 million) in an innovation centre in Campinas, Brazil.
According to Meio & Mensagem, the centre will focus on research and development for Latin America in the segments of baby care, beauty, household and hygiene, women’s and oral products, with the goal of developing products, packaging and production processes that are more sustainable. Consumer research will also be conducted through consumer surveys, focus groups and virtual reality sessions.
Initially located in the company’s old administrative building in the Louveira unit - extended in 2015 - the facilities will reportedly require the multi-million dollar investment make the centre operational and to recruit staff needed for approximately 120 specialised technical jobs.
