Brazil: Nescafe Dolce Gusto factory to be established in 2015
Brazil, the world’s largest coffee producer in the world by volume, will be the site of a new production facility for Nescafe Dolce Gusto coffee capsules, Nestle’s first such plant outside Europe.
The new facility is the result of a CHF 72 million ($73 million) investment and is intended to supply Brazil and other Latin American countries where demand for coffee products is rising. Nescafe Dolce Gusto is the most popular make of home coffee machine across the globe and is close to becoming a ‘billionaire’ brand, according to Food & Drink Business Europe.
The new Dolce Gusto factory will be located in Montes Clares in the state of Mines Gerais and will provide work for 90 direct employees. Reportedly, it will produce varieties for popular Brazilian brands such as Nescau in addition to European favourites such as Caffe Buongiorno and Barista Espresso.
Construction is due to begin in 2015.
