Brazil: BRF launches multigrain margarine

Brazilian food conglomerate BRF is launching a multigrain margarine product under its Qualy brand, according to a report in Giro News.

Qualy Multigrain Margarine is described as containing the benefits of six whole grains – flax, oat, chia, quinoa, sunflower and sesame – and comes in 250g tubs with an RRP of 4.70 BRL ($1.37). Unlike other margarines, the grains are said to be added whole.

Commenting on the launch, Qualy brand manager André Britto said: "Often, when grains are added, it is in the form of flour, which makes it difficult for many people to digest. With Qualy Multigrain we wanted to open up access to grains and help Brazilians to enjoy a healthier and more nutritious breakfast".

Qualy Multigrain joins the existing Qualy line-up, comprising Qualy Creamy, Qualy Light and Qualy Aerated.
