Belgium: AB InBev to open first brewery in Vietnam
AB InBev is to open its first brewery in Vietnam, according to a report in the Vietnam Economic Times.
Located in the province of Binh Duong in the south of Vietnam, the facility is set to meet the increasing demand for AB InBev products in the region.
Commenting on the move, Ricardo Vasques, General Director of AB InBev Vietnam, said: “Vietnam has potential and is the fastest growing beer market in Southeast Asia. The market is still one of our top priorities because it is expected to strongly impact on the development of the region’s beer industry in the future.”
“The brewery has been completed and has put into trial operations”, he added.
The new facility, which is expected to become operative by the end of this month, occupies an area of 100,000 sq m. While the plant will have an initial capacity of 50 million litres, there is the possibility for this to be doubled in the coming years.
