Belgium: AB InBev reports 2014 results

The Belgium-based brewing and beverage company AB InBev has released its worldwide 2014 financial results, reporting “another year of solid financial performance with strong commercial results in most of our top markets”.

The company said that  total volume sales for the year grew 0.6%, with an increase of 0.5% in the beer segment and 1.8% in the non-beer segment.

Total revenue was up by 5.9% to $47,063 million and gross profit increased 7.9% to $28,307.  Meanwhile EBITDA grew by 6.6% to $18,542 million, driven by strong revenue performance and despite higher sales and marketing investments, the company said.

In a statement, AB InBev commented: “In the first 10 years since the combination of Interbrew and Ambev we have built a solid foundation. We have created the world’s leading brewer, through organic growth as well as industry changing combinations, including with Anheuser-Busch in 2008 and Grupo Modelo in 2013. We have also built the world’s leading beer brands, with strong consumer preference and growth potential”.
