Australia: Lindt & Sprungli submits plans for new facility

Lindt & Sprungli has had draft plans approved to establish a new facility in Sydney, Australia, according to reports from Just Food and the Daily Telegraph.

The company is now seeking final approval for the new development, which is to be located at the Sydney Business Park in Marsden Park. According to the planning application, the facility will comprise a 20,330 sq m warehouse and a 5,000 sq m manufacturing and storing area set over 6.6 hectares. In total, the company says more than 350 jobs will be created.

Goods manufactured at the site will go to retail outlets across Australia and New Zealand, while fresh chocolates, cakes, ice creams and macaroons will be produced to supply Lindt's eight chocolate cafes in Melbourne and Sydney, Just Food reports.

If approved, the project is expected to be completed by October 2015.
