Australia: Kellogg to open “cereal cafe”

The Australian division of US cereal and snacks giant Kellogg is to open a pop-up "cereal cafe" in Sydney for a limited time, according to reports in Australian Food News and the Daily Mail.

Located in the Surry Hills area of the city and open for one week from the 19th April, the cafe will reportedly feature a dessert, brunch, lunch and drinks menu and is being operated in collaboration with the cafe Kawa.

The move comes as cereal is “having its moment in the spotlight” and is now appearing on menus across Australia, Australian Food News quotes the firm as saying.

Crunchy Nut and Nutri-Grain cereal milkshakes and Coco Pops hot chocolate are said to be on the menu, alongside Rice Bubbles crusted French toast, a salad made with Special K and a chicken burger crumbed with corn flakes. Prices are described as starting from A$3.50 ($2.70).
